Introduction to Materials Management by J. R. Tony Arnold et. al.
This textbook is rather lengthy, but is excellently well written. In additional, all three authors hold CFPIM and it shows. In fact, APICS’s own textbooks for the CPIM cite this textbook as a source. If you’re serious about learning inventory, this is a must read.
Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) by Carol Ptak and Chad Smith
DDMPR combines elements of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), Theory of Constraints (TOC), Six Sigma, and Lean. In short, it is a new concept for multi-echelon planning and execution through strategically placed decoupling point stock buffers.
Economic Ordering Quantity (EOQ) MIT Course
