An incredible, detailed report on Apple’s efforts to make its supply chain sustainable and responsible. The report gives a rare in-depth view of the company’s operations and efforts around the world.

United Nations Supply Chain Sustainability

As the UN Global Compact best put it, a company’s supply chain can make a significant impact in promoting human rights, fair labour practices, environmental progress and anti-corruption policies. As an effort to guide companies, the UN created this website for papers, materials, initiatives and business practices on supply chain sustainability.

A More Sustainable Supply Chain Harvard Business Review

Written by Verónica H. Villena and Dennis A. Gioia, this report takes a hard look at all the recent companies pledging to make their supply chains more environmentally sustainable. Is it all PR or real? As the authors concluded, multinational corporations (MNCs) should create incentives for procurement officials to pursue not only economic goals but also environmental and social goals. I could not agree more.

California Transparency in Supply Chains Act

The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act does not mandate that businesses implement new measures to ensure that their product supply chains are free from human trafficking and slavery. Instead, the law only requires that covered businesses make the required disclosures – even if they do little or nothing at all to safeguard their supply chains.
